Fashion Friday | Sunbury Portrait Photographer

I am by no means a fashiontisa! Not by any stretch of the imagination. So please do not be misled by the title of this post. These Fashion Friday posts are to assist my gorgeous clients see what type of clothing looks great in photos.

The number one question I receive when scheduling a session is "What should we wear?" I am always trying to verbally explain different styles that work. Recently I started thinking that some examples might be nice as well. So I decided to periodically start posting a Fashion Friday entry with different examples. Hopefully this will make it easier for you when you are trying to put together your portrait wardrobes.

First up, family! Remember, all you need to do is coordinate. Everyone doesn't necessarily have to match perfectly. Another important thing to remember is to dress comfortably. Uncomfortable clothing makes people look uncomfortable and stiff.

This weeks example is simple but colorful. The colors will make the portraits bright and fun, but won't be distracting. I have included shoes in this example, but I love bare feet as well. So feel free to kick your shoes off and be really comfortable and relaxed!

See that sucker in his hand?

The promise of that little sucker helped me to get a lot of cute shots of this little guy!

There were lots of smiles! But I really like this serious look too.

Abby | Sunbury Senior Photographer

I met with Abby one evening last week when it WASN'T raining! I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to have a rain free day to shoot Abby's photos. But luckily mother nature finally cooperated.

I saw this beautiful field of wildflowers driving down the road one day and couldn't wait to take Abby there. She looked absolutely beautiful amidst all the gorgeous yellow flowers. And then I decided it was time to be mean to her and ask her to lay down in the flowers in her pretty white dress! She didn't blink and eye. She was game for everything I asked her to do!

Abby is a friend of Brooke. Brooke joined us for Abby's session and turned in to a very handy assistant for me! She is a fabulous reflector holder! We also had another friend, Alicia, join us. Alicia was a huge help in posing. She has some fantastic ideas. Thanks Brooke and Alicia for all your help!

Thanks Abby for a fun evening!
I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and hope that you love your portraits.

Gage | Hendersonville, NC Senior Photographer

Meet Gage.
Gage's mom called me the beginning of last week and needed a quick head shot for his yearbook picture. Luckily we were able to get together that evening and spent about 15 minutes taking pictures.

As you can see, our 15 minutes turned out great!
Gage was great in front of the camera. Very comfortable and easy to work with.

They picked a favorite and we were able to turn it in to the school on Thursday.

I'm so glad that you found me Tish and that I was able to help you with Gage's yearbook picture!

The First Year Experience | Sunbury Newborn Photographer

I have met a lot of pregnant mommies lately and have been talking a lot about my baby plan. All of these discussions reminded me that I have never posted the details here on my blog for all of you.

The first year baby plan is a package experience where you are able to document the earliest chapters of your new little one's life. I am proud to offer a total of five sessions where you will see those small transformations and developments captured as your baby turns one year.

I generally recommend that sessions take place at 1 week, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year. Though they do not have to be exact. Each session will include at least one hour of on location photography at your home or location of your choice. I will present to you 10-15 finished images within 10 days of the session for you to choose your prints.

You will receive on 8 x 10 portrait of your favorite image from each session. You will also receive 25 custom designed birth announcements after your first session. And upon completion of your fifth session, you will be presented with a slideshow set to music containing all the images captured in the five sessions for you to keep and a custom designed 10 x 20 storyboard. Additional portraits will also be available for purchase from each session.

The First Year Experience package is a $625 value! The First Year Experience price is only $500! That's right. A $125 savings for you!

This is a sample of a 10 x 20 storyboard that is included in The First Year Experience package.

I am excited to document your new arrival! Please contact me directly to schedule your newborn session before the baby is born so we are prepared to capture those precious one week images.

A favorite pic from this week!

I don't think Peyton has made an appearance around here lately.

She is too sweet to not share her with you every once in a while!

Prom | New Lexington Portrait Photographer

I went back home to New Lexington last weekend for two portrait sessions and prom pictures. Unfortunately the portrait sessions were rained out and will need to be rescheduled. But we did manage to dodge the rain drops to capture these prom pictures of my very handsome nephew, Zach, and his beautiful girlfriend, Chelsea.

When Chelsea came out, she was breathtaking.
She looked like something out of a princess fairytale.

They were so sweet together.

When my 4 year old son, Cooper, saw these pictures on my laptop he gasped and said "Mommy, who is that?" I told him it was Zach's girlfriend. He asked "Is she real?" I said "yes she is real." "Does her talk?" "Yes she talks Cooper." Then he asked "What's her name?" I told him her name was Chelsea. He said "Her's bootiful mommy!"

I think he is right!

I think you better watch out Zach. Cooper might be trying to charm your girl!

These pictures brought back a lot of memories of my high school prom. So much so that I went and dug out my old photo albums to look at my prom pictures.

Thanks Zach and Chelsea for letting me be a little part of your evening.
I hope these pictures will bring back fond memories years down the road.
