Peyton's Surgery | Sunbury Children's Photographer

My sister tells me all the time that my kids are going to need therapy when they grow up because I'm always taking pictures of them crying.
I wonder what she will say about these pictures.

Yes, I took my camera with me when Peyton had her surgery.

Does that make me a bad mommy?

I think the part that makes me a bad mommy is posting the pics on here for all the world to see!

What do you think?

Actually, now that I think about it, there are lots of other things that probably make me a bad mommy besides these pics!

I won't go into all those details today.

Anyway, about the surgery. Peyton had tubes put in her ears on Friday morning. It's a very minor procedure really. All three of the boys have gone through this same surgery multiple times. She did great!

These pics are before the procedure when they gave her a little medicine that relaxes her and makes her a little dopey. You can probably tell by the droopy eyes and the mouth hanging open, that she is getting a little woozy by this time. She just laid there and checked things out.

And snuggled her teddy bear. I think we have 8 or 9 of these bears in our house now. The surgery center gives the kids one of these every time they go there. We have quite the little surgery bear family!

The surgery was at 8:45am on Friday morning.

By Friday afternoon, this is how she looked!

Much perkier!

So do you think I should start saving for my kids therapy bills now? The poor kids always have a camera lens starring at them. Partly because I want to remember things, and partly because I am always trying to learn new things about my camera and they are great to practice on.

P.S. Thanks to everyone that kept Peyton in your prayers on Friday. It's so comforting to know that so many people are praying for your little girl when something like this is going on.

  1. So glad to hear that surgery was a success and I love the photos! It reminded me of the last time my daughter was in for several days with the pneumonia. It really ended up being nice snuggling time for us and the pics of the beds and hospital gowns bring back those memories. I love that about your pictures. What a good documentary of this event!!

You don't need to save for therapy, just have more kids to make up for the ones who don't like you (heard that on Desperate Housewives...sounds like good advice!). Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures and your journey through motherhood and photography!!
