In my quest to clean up my house, there are a few things that are kind of hard to declutter. One of the items that I have been thinking about lately is my wedding dress. Like many of you probably did, I had it cleaned after our wedding and stored neatly in a box to preserve it. Preserve it for what, I have no idea? But that is what I did.
So now, after all these years, I'm wondering why am I keeping this dress. It's not like anyone is ever going to want to wear it. It's just taking up space.
Right?
I'm not sure.
I'm sort of torn on this one.
All of this leads me to my blog post today. I thought for fun I would create a little poll to see what all of you have done with your dress. Maybe it will help me decide what I should do with mine.

My wedding dress is hanging in my closet...I still like to try it on! :) (Or, I never got around to having it cleaned and boxed...however you want to look at that!)

Mine was so important to me that I left it at the cleaners for 3 years before I remembered to pick it up. LOL But it's all packed away now. Actually, Melissa has made me want to try it on. This might be depressing..........
ReplyDeleteDON"T get rid of it. I wore my mother-in-laws dress and it was very cool. Your new daughter-in-laws may never want to wear it-- nor your daughter---but.. if you get rid of it...that isn;t a choice:)
ReplyDeleteHowever-- I must admit- my dress was from 1939-so it was pretty awesome in 1981 lol. It was a replica of what Scarlet Ohara wore in Gone with the WInd and is now in a museum in Texas. Malory and her dad decided to share it with the world.:)
I am going to try to find someone to make Baptism gowns out of it for the twins and maybe even my niece since my sister also wore it!
