Wendy & JT | Sunbury Wedding Photographer

So if you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen my status update last weekend about me nervously & excitedly heading out Saturday morning for the first time as a wedding photographer.

A friend of mine kept insisting for several months that I be her wedding photographer. I kept insisting that I am not a wedding photographer and that she should find someone else. Obviously, as you can see, she won the argument. Those of you that know her, know she is persistent like that and doesn’t take no for an answer very well!

This could turn out to be quite a long post since I took soooooo many photos. And I know that there are a few of you out there that know the bride and want to see how beautiful everything turned out.

The venue for the wedding was The Darby House in Galloway, OH. It was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was fabulous. We could not have asked for a more perfect day for an outdoor wedding.

Just like a princess in a fairytale.

Look at her little boy smiling so proudly as his beautiful mommy walks down the isle.

Isn't she gorgeous?

The dress and the flowers were beautiful as well.

Happily ever after...

So the bride was stunning, the venue was amazing, the weather was fabulous ... could my day get any better? Believe it or not, it could! Some of you may remember last winter when I applied for a photography scholarship called SOAR. Well, I didn’t win the scholarship, but I did meet some amazing women during the process. One of them being the awesome Lisa Kenning. When I told Lisa about the possibility of me doing this wedding and asked her for some advice since she has shot weddings in the past, she graciously offered to come down and second shoot it with me in an attempt to put my nerves at ease. I say “in an attempt” because for 3 days prior to the wedding I was, let’s say, ummmm, A BASKET CASE! I was worried about every possible thing that I could do wrong, every equipment failure that could happen, what if my car broke down on the way to the wedding.. Yep, you name it, I thought of it, and I was worried about it! But Lisa, and a few other SOAR friends, were so sweet to me when I reached out to them on Facebook last week and kept talking me off of the ledge!

Well, I’m glad to report that everything went fine. Lisa and I worked seamlessly together despite the fact that we had never actually met in person before or even spoke verbally to each other. All prior communication was online. It was so fun to work with her and I can’t wait to go to Huron, OH later this month to second shoot a wedding that she has on her books! Thanks Lisa for all your help and calming words! I don’t know what I would have done without you!
